Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a Saval account or using our services, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms that apply to purchased features. We may modify this Agreement from time to time and will notify you of material changes; continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. iOS users must also comply with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Saval account. Participants under 18 may take part in Saval in-person events and activities only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who holds the account, completes registration, and agrees to this Agreement (including the liability waiver in Section 5) on the minor's behalf.
By creating an account, you represent that you:
- Can form binding contracts with Saval Givings Inc.
- Are not prohibited from using our services under U.S. law or listed on any U.S. Treasury Department restricted-party list.
- Will comply with this Agreement and all applicable laws.
- Have not been convicted of a felony, a sex crime, or a violent crime, and are not required to register as a sex offender.
3. Your account
You may sign in with a one-time password sent to your phone number, or via Facebook, Google, or Apple. You authorize Saval to access basic public profile information from these platforms when you do. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account — contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Modifying the service and termination
We may add, remove, or suspend features of the service. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us — note that if you manage a subscription through a third-party platform (App Store, Google Play), you must cancel it there to stop billing; deleting your account alone does not cancel a third-party subscription. We may terminate accounts without notice for violations of this Agreement; terminated accounts are not entitled to refunds. Sections 4, 5, and 12 through 16 survive termination.
5. Safety; your interactions with other users
Saval encourages respectful interactions but is not responsible for the conduct of other users. Use caution, especially when communicating off-platform or meeting in person.
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. SAVAL DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ITS USERS OR OTHERWISE INQUIRE INTO USERS' BACKGROUNDS.
6. Rights Saval grants you
Saval grants you a personal, worldwide, non-assignable, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the service. You agree not to use the service for commercial purposes without our written consent, copy or reproduce our content without consent, claim Saval's endorsement, use automated tools to access the service, interfere with its functionality or security, upload malicious code, reverse-engineer the service, or access our API without written consent.
7. Rights you grant Saval
By creating an account, you grant Saval a worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to host, store, use, copy, display, reproduce, adapt, edit, publish, modify, and distribute the content you post and the information from connected accounts, for the purpose of operating, developing, and improving the service. You represent that the information you submit is accurate and that you have the rights necessary to post your content. We may monitor, review, and remove content that violates this Agreement, and we may act on your behalf regarding infringing uses of your content, including sending copyright takedown notices.
8. Community rules
You agree not to use the service unlawfully, to harm Saval or other users, to spam or solicit money fraudulently, to impersonate anyone, to bully, stalk, harass, or defame anyone, to post content that infringes on others' rights, or to post hate speech, threats, or graphic or sexually explicit content. You may not use another person's account or maintain multiple accounts, and you may not create a new account after termination without our permission.
9. Other users' content
Saval reserves the right to review and remove content that violates this Agreement, but we cannot guarantee that all content on the service complies with it. Users who post content are solely responsible for it. Please report violations through the service.
10. Purchases
Saval offers in-app and direct purchases through the App Store, Google Play, PayPal, Zelle, and other authorized payment methods, charged at the displayed price plus applicable taxes.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the price then in effect, until canceled. Cancel through the platform you subscribed via, or in your account settings — deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription on its own.
Refunds. Charges are generally non-refundable, with no credit for partially used periods, except where required by law or within any applicable cancellation window.
For subscribers in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Wisconsin: you may cancel a subscription without penalty before midnight of the third business day following the subscription date. To request a refund, contact support with your name and phone number.
11. Notice and procedure for claims of copyright infringement
Copyright claims should include: a signature of the authorized person, a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate. Send notices to our copyright agent at info@saval.org.
12. Disclaimers
SAVAL PROVIDES THE SERVICE ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS AND, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRANTS NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. SAVAL TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTENT POSTED, SENT, OR RECEIVED BY USERS THROUGH THE SERVICE.
13. Third-party services
The service may contain links to third-party websites and advertisements. Saval is not responsible for the availability, content, or terms of third-party sites.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SAVAL, ITS AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR ENHANCED DAMAGES.
Saval's aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twenty-four months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions or limitations, so they may not apply to you.
15. Network access and devices
You are responsible for obtaining the data network access needed to use our services, and for any fees your carrier charges. Saval does not guarantee the service will function on any particular device.
16. Entire agreement
This Agreement, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms for purchased features make up the entire agreement between you and Saval. If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Your account is non-transferable, and your rights under this Agreement terminate upon death.
